Each spool comes in 3 parts.

Simply push the spindle through the hole and line the nipple up with the tiny hole on the spindle edge.
Then push the end cap on ensuring the notch is lined up with the notch on the other side of the spindle.
 
This Spool can then be reused as many times as you like.
 
Recycling the Spool is much better for the environment.
